Celtic Music Radio - broadcasting live from Celtic Connections, Glasgow from 16 Jan - 1 Feb 09
The sixteenth Celtic Connections festival opened last night with a spectacular torch-lit procession through the streets of Glasgow. The festival - the UK’s premier celebration of Celtic music - will see more than 300 concerts, ceilidhs and late night live music sessions take place over the next 17 days. In an exciting development, Celtic Connections 2009 will be broadcast daily between 11.00 – 22.00 (GMT) on Celtic Music Radio on 1530 AM/MW from today, 16 January – 1 February, as well as on 6140kHz in 49 metre European Band from high power transmitters in Germany from 13.00 – 14.00 (GMT) every day next week. In addition, and as in the previous three years, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau has collaborated with Celtic Music Radio to ensure that the festival is streamed via www.seeglasgow.com/cm ensuring that a global audience can enjoy all the energy and excitement of the festival. Broadcasting from the heart of all the action, Celtic Music Radio will feature live music daily between 11.00 – 19.00 (GMT), interviews with the performers, previews and reviews of concerts, plus up to date details of ticket availability.
