Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB) has launched the most comprehensive website yet dedicated to listing everything that is happening on the city’s lively entertainment scene.
The new
What’s On section of the
www.seeglasgow.com site lists a wide range of activities under sections such as comedy, books, sport, visual art, music, clubs, talks, families, days out, cinema and theatre.
Visitors can also book hotel rooms and restaurants on the site, making it the complete one-stop shop for anyone coming to Glasgow.
The events listings on
www.seeglasgow.com are being provided by entertainment magazine
The List using data supplied in
IVES¹ and the site has been built by Glasgow agency Triple One Digital.
Scott Taylor, Chief Executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said the new website will be an invaluable tool for citizens, tourists and conference delegates who are such an important part of the city’s economy.
“Glasgow has one of the most buzzing entertainment scenes you will find anywhere and our new website is the perfect portal to check out everything that’s going on in the city.”
“As a UNESCO City of music, there’s so much going on in Glasgow all year round. Anyone coming to Glasgow can now plan out what to do, book a room and plan their whole trip in advance.
“It is a fantastic resource that will help keep Glasgow right at the cutting edge as a leisure and business destination.”
Mike Hartley, Client Services Director, Triple One Group, added: “Triple One Digital were delighted to work with Glasgow City Marketing Bureau to create an events information platform to illustrate the diversity of all that Glasgow has to offer.
“It was our aim to create a site that would sit comfortably within the established Glasgow: Scotland with style brand whilst embracing the latest best practices for usability. We identified that providing quick, simple-to-understand and easy-to-sort searches would be the key to the success of this site in driving an increase in both visitors and bookings.
“We feel the new site now offers a quality showcase for the events that Glasgow City Marketing Bureau regularly attract.”
Simon Dessain, Digital Director of The List, commented: Glasgow City Marketing Bureau has every reason to be proud of delivering this exciting new public site. They are demonstrating the leadership and innovation upon which Glasgow has always been built in adopting the new IVES standard for event information, which underpins the new site.”
“Visitors can search the site by date and section, allowing them to check, for example, all comedy events that are showing on a particular date. The site also showcases major events, awards and exhibitions. Every listing includes a link to contact details, ticket prices and Google map of the location.”
