Glasgow Comedy YouTube Channel

Get ready to have your ribs tickled by some of the world’s top comedians as Glasgow City Marketing Bureau launches the Glasgow Comedy YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/glasgowcomedychannel.
Kicking off with footage from the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival, running from the 12 - 29 March, the dedicated channel will broadcast shows from major comedy names as well as homegrown talent.

Some of the top names performing at the festival include Jimmy Carr, Rob Brydon, Rhona Cameron and Craig Hill.

The channel will be updated regularly with interviews and comedy clips throughout the course of the festival and beyond, allowing people to sample Glasgow’s comedy highlights throughout the year from the comfort of their armchair.

Scott Taylor, chief executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau said:

“We are delighted to spearhead the new Glasgow Comedy You Tube channel which takes Glasgow’s entertainment credentials to an even wider audience than ever before.

“Lonely Planet named Glasgow as one of the top cities in the world to visit in 2009, citing the “legendary native wit” as just one of the reasons why people should visit.

"The launch of the Glasgow Comedy Channel looks set to further enhance that reputation by giving unprecedented access to Glasgow’s thriving comedy circuit.”

A YouTube spokesperson said:

"YouTube is a great platform for users to find the latest comedy clips from established and new acts. Launching a channel on the site will ensure that the Glasgow Comedy Festival  becomes one of the first festivals to go truly global, allowing viewers to watch the upcoming performances wherever they are in the world."
