  • Celtic Connections: Thur 17th Jan – Sun 3rd Feb

    Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival, Celtic Connections celebrates Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe. Between 17th January – 3rd February 2013, 2,100 musicians from around the world will descend on Glasgow and bring the city to life for 18 days of concerts, ceilidhs, talks, art exhibitions, workshops, and free events.

  • Glasgow Monte Carlo Classic Rally: Sat 26th Jan

    Created in 1911, ‘The Monte’ is one of the most famous and glamorous motorsport events in the world. Glasgow will capture some of that magic as one of the four official international starting cities. Around 100 Porsches, Lancias and Holdens, from the 1920s to the 1980s, will cross the start ramp in the city.

    Japan Desk Scotland and The Japan Foundation co-organise the 14th Season of Contemporary Japanese Films on four consecutive Friday nights in February 2013 at the Gilmorehill Centre, University of Glasgow, from 6.30 pm, under the theme of Far Away from Cities.     Watch the world’s top street dancers from USA, Europe, Asia and Africa compete to become the UDO World Street Dance Champions at the SECC.
