World Parkinson Congress

Train Glasgow’s hospitality industry to be proactive and responsive to our delegates living with Parkinson’s

World Parkinson Congress, 28 September – 1 October 2010, SECC

A key objective of the World Parkinson Congress was to engage city partners to understand the needs and requirements of people living with Parkinson’s and to adapt their services and support to suit.

Glasgow City Marketing Bureau provided a truly innovative solution by providing training sessions for staff within Glasgow’s hospitality sector to understand and be responsive to the needs of people living with Parkinson’s.


Distripress

Create a unique tartan for our association

Distripress, 30 September – 04 October 2012, SECC

Glasgow City Marketing Bureau provided a “conference first” for Distripress by creating an association tartan that delegates could purchase, providing a lasting legacy for the conference.


European Congress of Immunology

Light up the city buildings at night with our association brand colours

European Congress of Immunology, 5 – 8 September 2012, SECC

A series of “conference firsts” were delivered for the European Congress of Immunology, to achieve the ultimate welcome for international delegates attending the conference. These included a City Lighting Project that involved illuminating the iconic Clyde Arc bridge in the congress brand colour, and lighting the exterior and interior of the University of Glasgow to welcome guests to the President’s Dinner.


Diabetes UK

Deliver a City Smartphone App that gives us sponsorship revenue streams

Diabetes UK, 07-09 March 2012, SECC

As part of Glasgow City Marketing Bureaus strategic partnership with Diabetes UK, a series of “conference firsts” were created for the client, which included unique sponsorship revenue streams such as a City Smartphone App and a 5K fun run.

Opportunities to promote a public health message were also created, which included Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow testing stations in Glasgow city centre and a pro-active PR campaign to raise awareness of the disease at a Glasgow and Scotland level.
